Need more proof that my life is weird? I was asked to help out "Oedipage," another show in the Kabaret Kantor, by filling in for a missing actor on their last night of their run. I had the day to prepare, learn the part, and that night perform in this avant garde version of Oedipus Rex.
Obviously, that's not me, but this was the part I played. I stood on a chair to get the dress to look that big and I stayed behind the curtain the whole show, occasionally making an appearance to provide commentary on the action.
Woohoo!
It went really well, I think. Everytime cast members were behind the curtain with me they'd give me a thumb's up to say I was doing OK. Thankfully the nature of the show is very flexible and could easily adjust to me not really knowing what the heck was going on. Also, standing on a chair is pretty easy.
