So. Wow.
Abbey Pontlevoy is one of the most beautiful places I have ever beheld. Please bear with me as I upload a ridiculous amount of pictures all into one post. My camera has been busy busy busy, but I can't help myself! It feels like every time I turn the corner in this magical place, there's something beautiful, French, & mysterious calling my name. "Oooh la la, Shannon. Muh name eez Paradise. Eet eez nice to meet you. Enchante."

Courtyard.

Door.

Gate. Wow, I am good at writing captions after 1AM.

One side of the abbey. Where's Mr. Darcy in his soaking white shirt, hmm?

Apparently this tree was planted by Louie XIV around the time of the French Revolution and is protected by the French government. In person, especially, it is *quite* spectacular.

The view from my window. "Oh hey, good morning, gorgeous chapel! Didn't see you there, being all gorgeous."

I'd be willing to bet that my backyard is better than your backyard.

And to finish up this set, here's some rusty bottle caps.

P.S. Pinch me. Do I really get to live here?
OH wow
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you are in Darcy land and I'm stuck in Starbucks land. I'm so jealous!
ReplyDeleteThe broken gate is my favorite. Probably come up with 100 metaphors for that one.
ReplyDeleteI love art shots!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, and p.s. the title is better just plain. The spilled wine thing wasn't really working for me.
ReplyDeleteI know! That's why I changed it. :-P
ReplyDeleteAbsolument incroyable!
